Lumiukon seikkailu brings about 200 local musicians, dancers and gymnasts to the Oulankasali stage on 9–11 December 2026. Tickets cost 10–15 euros.
Kuusamo’s own version of The Snowman reaches the stage of Oulankasali at Kuusamotalo on Wednesday 9 December 2026, with two more performances on 10 and 11 December. The show, called Lumiukon seikkailu in Finnish, puts live music, dance and gymnastics on the same stage, and 200 performers from the town take part.
It is a joint production of the Kuusamo gymnasts, the adult education centre Kuusamo-opisto, Kuusamon musiikkiopisto music institute and the city’s culture services. The city’s event calendar lists it under both names, Lumiukon seikkailu and The Snowman’s Adventure, which is worth knowing if you search for tickets in English.
The performance is built on the winter story The Snowman, told with a Kuusamo twist. The people on stage come from the local gymnastics clubs, Kuusamo-opisto and the music institute, so this is a home-made production rather than a touring one.
Wednesday 9 December The first performance runs from 18:00 to 19:00 in Oulankasali at Kuusamotalo.
Thursday 10 December The second performance, in the same hall.
Friday 11 December The third and last performance.
Start times for the Thursday and Friday performances have not been announced, so check the time when you buy your tickets. Tickets cost 10 to 15 euros, and Kuusamotalo sells them both at its own service point in the building and through a ticket service.
Kuusamotalo stands in the centre of Kuusamo at Kaarlo Hännisen tie 2. Architect Arto Sipinen designed the building, which was completed in 1996, and it also houses the music institute and the Kino Kuusamotalo cinema. Oulankasali, the hall the show plays in, seats 532. Our Ruka-Kuusamo guide covers where to stay and what else there is to do in the area in winter.
